A day in Paris

Today was an exciting day. We left our hotel at 830 and headed in straight for Paris. Our first stop was the Louvre Museum. It's unbelievable how huge that place is. They have over 35,000 pieces of art, so no, we did not see everything! We basically just went off on our own and we're able to spend two hours at the Louvre how we wanted. My friends and I were mostly interested in the Mona Lisa, so we went there right away. It's actually a very small painting, but the crowds surrounding it were thick! After viewing the Mona Lisa, a couple of us made a quick run to the Love Lock Bridge. Lucky for me I had remembered prior to the trip to being along a lock so I was able to latch on my lock signifying "eternal love". Once finished at the Louvre, our group went to the palace of Versailles, the castle of the royal French family. The architecture at the palace was beautiful, so much pure gold! It was interesting to learn about the history behind the royalty and how things were done. After Versailles, we went back into Paris where we visited Notre Dam, Took a river boat tour through Paris along the Seine, viewed Paris from a panoramic sky deck, and lastly, toured the city at night when everything is all lit up. So much was done today, it's exhausting. Tomorrow we leave for Biarritz at 5am. We are taking the Paris train and have been warned many many times to be where of pick pocketing, so with a group of 47, this should be interesting.
